Just last year we were all in the haze of having a new leader a new President to take over from the ass nine mistakes of President George Bush. The country was all hyped up with the winds of change that were promised in the campaigning of 2008.
The Republicans promising to get back to basics in their party, and the Democrats calling for great reform. Both parties having the right intentions. I like to think so at least, in their hearts. They just never seem to get it right all the time. Well ... Continue reading ...
Here are the signs that DADT is weakening due to pressure from LGBT groups, the White House and some top Millitary Leaders. Lt. Dan Choi who is facing discharge from the New York National guard for coming out publicly as a gay male, was allowed to join guard drills with his unit last weekend.
In a telephone interview on Thursday, Lieutenant Choi said that his commander was “totally supportive” and had asked him to participate in a weekend drill with his unit, the First Battalion, 69th Inf... Continue reading ...
Now if this is not ignorant I do not know what is. To see future Law Makers attacking LGBT in order to win an election. Well I got news for you, I really don't think it will help.
A state lawmaker, running for the GOP nomination to be the next Secretary of State in Michigan, is wasting no time addressing the real issues facing Michigan — stopping transgender people from changing their sex on their drivers license. Now this is a issue that really needs addressed. I am so glad that Michigan ha... Continue reading ...
At this rate we should see an end to DADT in about ohh several years. Congress wants to keep doing more studies that prove that ending DADT will not hurt our military even though the Sec General of the Army said it will not. Not to mention these studies have already been done. This is what we get for having Congress take the lead. Obama gave us another empty promise and it really looks like I will not be supporting him in his campaign bid for 2012.
Word of a protest from anti gay groups in front of a theater in Cedar Rapids Iowa sparks gay supporters to counter protest.
Hundreds of supporters came out on the opening night of The Laramie
Project, a play that tells the story of the aftermath of the 1998
murder of Matthew Shephard in Laramie, Wyoming.
Many had heard Westboro Baptist Church members were going to protest the play. That group never showed up.
This week, the Westboro Baptist Church announced plans to picket and
protest the pro... Continue reading ...
Well the time has come and the LGBT Community is seeing its first Federal Court Challenge over Gay Marriage being overturned in California. It really amazes me as how the LGBT Community has pulled together to support Prop 8 and it also disgusts me that we still have so many selfish people in our community. I still don't see the major turn outs for other causes such as ENDA, but oh well lets get back to Prop 8.
If you remember right California was the 2nd state in the United States to allow ga... Continue reading ...
Seventeen-year-old Zikerria Bellamy a transgendered woman was denied a job at a Orlando McDonald's and told "we do not hire faggots," This is not the first time this has happened. Almost every day in the United States a Transsexual person is turned down from a job, housing and many other things people often take for granted only because we were born into the wrong bodies. Come on pepole think about it. This is not a choice as many people in the L.G.B.T community hear from our homophobic bigot... Continue reading ...
I really really wished I could wave a magic wand and make this go away. This story really hits me in the gut as a HUMAN BEING let alone part of the LGBT Community. I am going to try really hard to compose this blog with out using foul language but mind you once you read this you will understand if its thrown in here and there.
The Right Wing American Religious right is really feeling that their loosing ground in the United States against the so called evil "GAY" that they will go to any count... Continue reading ...
Well 2009 has had some ups and downs for me and the whole Putang family. 2010 did not start with bells and whistles. 2010 started with the LGBT World Community loosing a great voice and activist. My dear Friend Rev. Brett Harris founder of Ergonomical Ministries and Friends of B.R.Y.C.E. passed on to the heavens January 1st 2010. He will be greatly missed, and he can rest peacefully knowing the team he formed with FOB is working to continue his work.
First I just want to say I never thought we would see this coming. A country just about 10 years ago it was almost unheard of to be gay. Gay bars were kept in some what of secret and were raided by police. Now the largest city in the central American world has made a huge leap that the United States is scared to make.
I am very happy for our Mexico Brothers and Sisters. They are giving the freedoms of every other citizen in their country. Its a great time to be very joyful and happy. Congratu... Continue reading ...
I recently had the wonderful privilege to participate on a very distinguished panel of clergy that discussed the issue of sexual orientation and scripture. One of the audience members asked a question that attempted to link the ban in Leviticus on homosexuality to the ban in Leviticus on bestiality. Several panel members addressed this question. Then the audience member asked it again, which I take as unwillingness to listen or to accept the pro-gay explanation that was offered.

Gay Rights and Politics
It's 2:46 am -- and I can't sleep. I've been up all night trying to understand my failed marriage. We stayed together for no other reason than just to have somebody. Our crappy marriage ended soon enough that it didn't hurt my son to see "mommy and daddy" fighting all the time. We couldn't function together. It seems so silly that our country, one of the most technically adavanced countries, is the furtest behind in civil and equal rights. We'll allow disfunctional straight families to raise ... Ok I was going to put this letter on the blog post here, so you guys could see it. The thing is after I read more of it, I get very pissed off and do not want that trash on my site!
Lets just say you sounded really UN AMERICAN in that letter. You also dont seem to be a realist. I use to think your were very intelligent but now I am totally doubting that one. I hope I do not loose any fans of this. But I have never held back when expressing my opinion and this one is way to strong not to blog ... Continue reading ...
All I can say is HELL YES!!!! Equality groups in Alabama organized a protest against the Focus on The Family Conference in Alabama. Focus on The Family conference was for parents that have a child who is gay or lesbian. There slogan for the conference is love won out. Well love is winning out as LGBT activist are protesting more and more of these conferences.
Being an advocate against conversion therapies and also against religious radicals reading these stories just makes my heart swell up w... Continue reading ...
I almost fell out of my chair laughing about this one. This is such a dumb mistake that it reminded me of George W Bush because he is from there... Let me regain my composure. Texas accidentally passed a law that banned all marriage in the state!
They were writing the law that would ban gay marriage and then included language that would ban all marriages! Well to me thats not a mistake that is what should be done. If one group of American citizens cant marry then why should another right? Well... Continue reading ...
We have been protesting, marching, and lobbying our congress people, and from what we are hearing from Rep. Barney Franks DADT is slated to be in the topic of the Department of Defense bill slated for 2010.
Apparently anytime a Military change in policy is discussed its included in a overhaul defense bill. This kind of bill is scheduled to be discussed in 2010. But will we see the end of DADT? Well Rep. Barney Franks has went on record saying he has been speaking with Nancy Pelosi's office, ... Continue reading ...
As most of you know there is a bill going through the senate right now on wording and getting approval for main vote. The house of representatives are scheduled to do their own hearings in a few weeks. It comes to a shock to me that I don't see that many equality groups switching the fight from Gay Marriage to rallying support for ENDA. The only group that even touched based on it, is the HRC.
I totally understand that Marriage Equality is important to our LGBT Community but ENDA is just as i... Continue reading ...
As all of you know by now Maine had their election last night and voted to put a clause to their marriage law that banns gay marriages. I know this is a sad state of affairs to loose this state in our cause but we must not give up hope. There are many people in Maine that are thinking positive and have counted this as just one battle, with many more to be wage. The fight is not over in Maine.
I was in a chat room last night for this election and was totally floored to hear some of our fellow ... Continue reading ...
Sometimes were scared to stand up for what we believe in because it will either cause problems with our family, our friends, our work etc.
But what if you believe in a cause so much that your heart aches for it, that you will do anything to see it happen, but then allow Society to stop you from doing it?
Does the cause not matter to you? Does it not help people? Does it not need an extra voice? Do you think that other people will carry out the cause?
A baggage agent for Sky West is saying that the airline is breaking California state law that enforces companies to give the same rights as Straight couples to same sex couples. He is claiming that the company wont allow his husband the free air fares that are allowed to Straight Couples.
Gilbert Caldwell married David Farell in 2008. They are part of the marriages in California that are being grandfathered in. Caldwell is represented by Lambda Legal and is suing Sky West for damages unless t... Continue reading ...
OH WOW!!! This is great news for some, but this dosen't mean that we have seen the last of Dr. Dobson. Dr. Dobson announced that he is leaving the ministry Focus On The Family. The ministry said it was a mutual decision between them and Dobson for him to leave.
Unfortunately Dobson does not plan on going into retirement quietly. He still plans on being guest on various Christian radio shows, and TV shows.
Dobson created Focus On The Family who is very anti gay , and very much wants to see an ... Continue reading ...
So, there's an issue that I've been meaning to address for a while. The issue of GLBTQ Teens. I know high school can be rough... in fact it wasn't long ago that I was in high school-- just trying to fit it. Being a bigger woman, that's hard. Everyone has something to say -- and teachers aren't much better. I live in a disgustingly Republican State where too many parents teach their kids that it's not "okay" to be gay. This has made teen suicide numbers spike -- if you can't come out to your p... Continue reading ...
Now this story not only makes me cry, but it down right gets the blood pressure up. Not only did this bigot hospital think they could flex their muscle but also in my eyes broke the law. Unfortunately U.S. District Judge Adalbuto Jordan dosen't think so by dismissing the law suit that was filed days ago.
Lisa Pond died with no loved ones at her bedside just after she also gave power of attorney and a living will that named her life partner Janice Langbehn as the beneficary and the person to m... Continue reading ...
OMG it does me so proud to see that the Governor of Lousianna has a good head on their shoulders. The Governor and a senator are calling for Keith Barwell's dissmissal. The old racist bigot needs to be fired!
I am still shocked that this even happened. I am hoping the couple found a Justice of the Peace to marry them. This is just sad that in 2009 were still faced with such bigotry and racism.
Ok with me being from Iowa I am going to have my nose all up in Rep. Steve Kings business. The last time I knew it was against the law for anybody to be terminated from their job in the Federal Goverment because of Sexual Oreintation.
Rep. Steve King makes me sick when he says the reason Kevin Jennings should be removed is because he is openly gay and promotes "The Gay Agenda" in American Schools. Well Rep. King the last time I knew of a "Gay Agenda" was that we have been fighting for equalit... Continue reading ...
As soon as I read this I started researching and let me tell you it makes me sick to my stomach to see this crap happening in our country this day and age. I am totally disgusted with Justice of The Peace Keith Bardwell for his lack of compassion for the human race. Its worse enough that the LGBT Community is fighting for equality and rights to marry but when a couple one black and one white are denied a right to marry because of their skin color, just makes me extremely upset and pissed off!... This is the email that I sent to the Tangipahoa Parish through their website in New Orleans Lousianna. This is concerning Justice of the Peace Keith Bardwell not marrying an inner racial couple due to his own personal beilefs.
I see on your website that you advertise that your More then a great place to live. Well after reading in the news I would definately beg a differ on that one.
Justice of the Peace Keith Bardwell refused to issue a signed marriage license to an interracial couple. Do... Continue reading ...
Now this a different step from celebrities not supporting their gay kids to one that is very supportive of her gay son. Belinda Carlisle is speaking up against Main No. 1 saying that she wants the same opportunities and rights for her gay son as she has.
Her son James Duke Mason is a very outspoken activist for Gay Rights. Hes on You Tube and Facebook and urges people to become more involved in the fight...
Line Backer Scott Fujita says that equality and gay rights should be way post the point of debate. I just really love this story and how Scott is using his star power to get an important message across.. Thanks Scott..
President Obama throws us the LGBT Community a bone tonight by saying he will end Dont ask Dont Tell. All I have to say is wake up people... He promised this once on his Campaign, once since hes been president and now again. He is just stalling us.
As most of you know the Equality March on DC is this Saturday. Rep. Barney Frank made the comment that everybody should stay home that it dosent do any good.... and the President dosent need this kind of pressure.
Barney as a gay male who is an elected official and use to talk about equality why would you make such remarks. Also as far as the President not needing the pressure? What the hell did he run for the highest office in our country for? He knew what he was doing by taking on the job. ... Continue reading ...
What a crock of horse crap. Obama wins Nobel Peace Prize for his speeches not his actions. Obama took office 10 days before Feb which was the deadline for the Nobel Prize Nominations. So this just stands that he is getting the award for his savy speeches and not his actions.
How and the hell does a peace prize go to a President of a Country who is about to send more troops to war in the Middle East? Granted Obama did not wage this war but he is going to finish it.
There is a petition out there in the world of conservative computer users and media outlets (i.e. FOX) that is charging that Kevin Jennings, assistant deputy secretary of education for the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools, intends to spread homosexuality and encourage statutory rape in America’s schools.
Here we go again with this bull *&)(. These people are seriously dem...
A state judge paved the way for a court battle over a ban on same-sex marriage in Texas when she ruled this week that two men married in another state can get divorced in Dallas.
This judge does earn her props for this one. More justices need to be like her, and interpret the Constution for what it actually means and not for what the radicals want it to mea...
Well as some of you know the price we pay for being gay with all the hetro's out there that fear that by allowing us to have equal human rights would destroy there values, is almost extremely high. However did you know that it can cost us financially too?
Some experts estimate over 400 grand in a couples lifetime becuase they dont have the same health care and retirement benefits that straight married couples do. Social Security is going to be a big kicker untill the Federal Goverment recogni... Continue reading ...
