I did some research from my last blog post about Westboro church and have decided to look at this website for the first time. I have heard about it, and really just thought of it as a sickening way of recruiting homophobes to their cause, but I am really disturbed as to the other crap that is on this site. Not only does it teach hate! But it also teaches hate against America!

I recently had the wonderful privilege to participate on a very distinguished panel of clergy that discussed the issue of sexual orientation and scripture. One of the audience members asked a question that attempted to link the ban in Leviticus on homosexuality to the ban in Leviticus on bestiality. Several panel members addressed this question. After 10 years of hard debate, and from the first time Judy Sheppard called on Congress to create such a law to protect the LGBT Community against hate crimes, the day we all been waiting for was here today! LGBT and our allies are marching again on the White House on Wed, which is the day President Obama is suppose to sign into law the new Hate Crimes Bill known as the Matthew Sheppard and James Byrd JR. Hate Crimes Act.

Well all I can say its about damn time. We have waited for years to get something like this into law, and it was passed in the Senate last week. There have been speculation that this bill would get passed last month, but it sat in the Senate during that time waiting on a vote.
